Title: Quantum groups and quantum information theory
Abstract: Quantum groups were invented around 40 years ago, although in some form they existed since the 1930s. I’ll give a brief history of the subject and of its origins in mathematical physics, and then discuss some of its recent applications to quantum information theory.
